Marsch unwired; Victorine speaks; Ex-RSL’ers ready for Saturday

Jesse Marsch Chivas USA midfielder Jesse Marsch participated in full training today with his teammates as he continues his recovery from a jaw fracture suffered during the last Super Clásico match on Aug. 14 when he was elbowed by LA Galaxy defender Sean Franklin. Since then, Marsch’s jaw had been wired shut until this past Friday.

Chivas USA faces Real Salt Lake on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. PT, in the Red-and-White’s third consecutive game on the road. The match at Rice-Eccles Stadium will be broadcast live on Azteca 54 and tape-delayed (8:00 p.m., with pregame show at 7:30 p.m.) on FSN West.
Chivas USA (8-10-6, 30 points) is currently tied in third place with the Colorado Rapids in the Western Conference, with the Red-and-White ahead by virtue of their 2-1 at Colorado in May. A win over Real Salt Lake, in second place with 31 points, would give the Red-and-White the chance to climb to the second spot in the Western Conference.
Saturday’s match will mark the return of three former Real Salt Lake players. Defender Carey Talley joined Chivas USA in May in a trade with Real Salt Lake, where he played since 2006. Forward Alecko Eskandarian was acquired by Chivas USA from Real Salt Lake in January 2008, as well as forward Atiba Harris, who was also traded by Real Salt Lake to the Red-and-White in a December 2007 transaction. Both, Eskandarian and Talley have scored a goal against their former team early this season.

El mediocampista Jesse Marsch regresó a los entrenamientos después de sufrir una fractura de mandíbula ocurrida en el último Súper Clásico del 14 de agosto ante el Galaxy. Tras recibir un tratamiento especial en la mandíbula, Marsch podría regresar a la actividad el próximo sábado en el crucial encuentro ante el Real Salt Lake en Rice-Eccles Stadium. El encuentro será televisado en vivo a las 6:00 p.m. por Azteca 54.
El refuerzo de Chivas USA, Sasha Victorine, practicó por primera vez con el equipo y también podría ver acción en el encuentro ante el Salt Lake.
