Chivas USA trains in Chicago

Chivas USA trained on Friday afternoon at Toyota Park in Chicago, where the Red-and-White will face the Fire on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CT/5:30 p.m. PT. (FSN Prime Ticket, Azteca America, 690 AM in Los Angeles). Chivas USA Head coach Preki had a short talk with players before practice, where he notified them about Brad Guzan’s official departure to English Premier League’s Aston Villa.
“We’re very happy that everything its okay with Brad,” said Goalkeeper Coach Leo Percovich. “We are so happy, because we were holding our breath for him. Finally, he opened the door for himself in the English Premier League. It was a pleasure to work with him.”

“From now on, the player that is going to be in goal is the one who works hardest. This is a team; everybody should fight for a spot, gain respect, and from there, we will see who gets the number one jersey,” Percovich added.

Excited to face Chicago
Chivas USA defender Carey Talley says the team is eager to play a Chicago team this is missing both Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Diego Gutierrez, both suspended for yellow card accumulation.
“We know that they have a couple of guys out. To be honest, we are excited about that. We have a good chance to do some good things coming here tomorrow night. We’ve been playing very good soccer lately, and it’ll be good to be back on the field,” Talley said after practice on Friday.

Red-and-White will miss Sacha

With Ante Razov (six goals in six games) not making the trip, and Sacha Kljestan on international duty with the U.S. Olympic Team, Chivas USA will need help from forwards such as Atiba Harris, Alecko Eskandarian, and Maykel Galindo.
“Any team misses Sacha, a player like him, with creative ability. We’re going to miss him but there’s plenty of guys that can step up tomorrow night,” said Talley.
